How to Write Affirmations that Really Work

If you are just getting started with Dollars Want Me you may be wondering how you can write really affective affirmations that will work for you!

Affirmations are all about being positive and thinking and feeling that you already have the thing that you want…. Affirmations will only work if they are written in the present tense, and are about things that you desire, things you want to be doing or goals that you want to achieve.

So what makes a good affirmation?

When you are writing affirmations, make sure that they are statements, a good way to begin them is this:

“I am”                                                                                 

“I have”

“I am happy now that”

“I am wealthy”

As you can see all these phrases are written in the present as if you already have or are the things you want to affirm your way to. As long as your statement is positive and direct, you will be starting in the right place!

Focus

Another thing to remember when writing your affirmations is that you MUST focus on all the positive things that want YOU in your life. NEVER focus on the things that you do not want as you are just as likely to attract those if you repeat and think about them often enough too… And that is not what we want for you!

Be Positive

For every negative thought you have, write a positive affirmation that is the complete opposite and repeat this every time the negative thought pops into your head, whether you realise it or not, eventually you will banish the negativity from your mind for good.

Be Yourself

When you are writing affirmations for yourself, try not to use words that are alien to you, this will not help in you to believe in what you are saying, use words that are familiar to you and those that come into your mind and consciousness easily.

Most importantly…. Feel free to write affirmations about anything! No matter what your goals are or how many you have, write an affirmation, repeat and believe!

Affiliate Program vs Pyramid Scheme, What is the Difference?

When we hit hard times and the economy is down as it is at the moment, many people turn to other more creative ways to make money. Whether they want to add to their main income or they are struggling to find reliable work, they may turn to affiliate programs or pyramid schemes as an easy way to make an income.

I am sure we have all heard of pyramid schemes… I would hazard a guess that they are all bad things too! But have you heard of affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is fast becoming a very popular way to make money online, it is relatively easy and risk free for all involved, all you need to do is learn a little along the way!

So what is the difference between affiliate marketing and pyramid schemes, are they not the same thing with different names?

No they aren’t, here we will explain the clear difference between the two so that you are fully aware of what you are getting into when trying to make an extra bit of cash for you and the family when starting with affiliate marketing.

Affiiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is where you agree to sell or advertise a product in exchange for commission on the sales that you make for the company you are advertising for.  Most typically these programs pay from 1- 9 tiers in depth, allowing you to earn money if a customer decides to also get involved and recommend the product. The company you sign up with will typically provide you with a unique identifier link, in order to keep track of how many sales have been generated by your advertising online. Most affiliates will have used the product before selling it so there is minimal risk when it comes to conflict of interest for affiliate marketers. Most large companies including amazon have affiliate marketing systems and it is a completely legal way for them to advertise and a completely legal way for individuals to make money on the internet.

Pyramid Schemes

First of all, it should be noted that pyramid schemes are illegal, and the way they work is extremely misleading. A pyramid scheme begins when a single money transaction is carried out between two people. After the deal has been done, it is suggested that the second person and others who get involved further down the pyramid can make money out of selling the pyramid scheme. The promise is that there will be a commission given for new person. Sounds fine, right?

Wrong… For each additional person that joins and pays an entry fee to the scheme the, first person gets a percentage of the revenue when an entry fee is paid…  Basically the other members may make some money but it is only the person on the top who really benefits. So is it worth your effort? No because you are usually just a pawn to allow the people at the top of the pyramid to make all the money.

So, pyramid schemes are built around "referring" new people who pay a fee to be able to make money from other people joining. This fee is usually a signup fee and monthly fee to be qualified to earn from the pyramid.

So how is Affiliate Marketing different?

Affiliate marketing is a much fairer way to make money online, and it works because the payment model is the same for everybody, or is based on an on an objective payment. Each affiliate will make a commission when a product is sold with their link, which really makes affiliate marketers more like an extended sales force.

Affiliate marketing is legitimate and will probably be the future of marketing, the beauty of affiliate marketing is that you are not just getting people to click on your referral code to get money, you are actually selling a useful product to the people that want it.

It is an extremely transparent way to market and a great way for individuals to make money online without the worry that they are in a pyramid scheme making money for referring someone else.

Affiliate marketing does not cost any money to join up, so you earn from what you sell without any cash lay out. Most pyramid schemes ask for a payment upfront to join in the beginning, so be on the lookout for this when you want to get involved with affiliate marketing.

Pyramid schemes are ultimately a way to get people to pay money into the system which is then passed up… there is usually either no product or a worthless product, this makes the people on the top a lot of money, and the people in last loose it all!

Money Worries Will Make You Sick!

The History of Affirmations

Contrary to popular belief, the use of affirmations is not a new concept, they can actually be traced back to ancient eastern religions, originally known as mantras they were used mostly by Buddhists. Mantras are religious, poems or sayings that are chanted over and over again during meditation.

Affirmations as we know them today, have a long history in the concept of self-help. They are believed to originate in the work of French psychotherapist Emile Coue. His affirmation “Every day, in every way, I’m getting better and better” was given to his patients to repeat at the beginning and end of every day in order to change their unconscious thoughts. 

From Emile Coue, we can trace the use of affirmations to The New Thought Movement, which was a spiritual movement founded in the USA in the early 19^th century. This was the turning point in the popularity of affirmations and lead to many books on self-help being written.

The New Thought Movement also had a member that has become our inspiration for Dollars Want Me: The New Millennium Edition…. Henry Harrison Brown! Check out our previous blog to find out more about who Henry was.

The movement was something that many people had not ever been in contact with, but its popularity soon spread all around the USA with non-religious and religious groups based on new thought springing up everywhere.

Although we use affirmations in a similar way in modern times, the thought behind them has change slightly. With the introduction and popularity of the Law of Attraction and the book “The Secret”, affirmations are now quite often used to ask the universe for something that we want. It is thought that positive affirmations not only help to change our mind-set and create habits, but if said to the universe the law of attraction will be at work to provide everything that we desire. 

Although the Law of attraction does not actually work 100% because people are too busy focussing on what they want as opposed to what wants them!

We have talked about affirmations, and building new habits to help you to get all you want, be everything you want to be and enjoy life the way you want to.

But there is another factor that you need to consider before beginning your journey…. The universe!

The universe is an extremely important part of this when you are trying to attract and get everything you want, and no matter what it is you will be asking the universe for it, however you choose to do it, the universe will respond.

When you say affirmations, you are not only changing your mind-set, you are also asking the universe to make the things that you want a reality.

“Thought = creation. If these thoughts are attached to powerful emotions (good or bad) that speeds the creation”

• You have heard of the Law of Attraction right? Well this is what you are using when you ask the universe for what you want. Here’s a brief guide to how it works:
• Be sure about what it is that you want to attract and don’t doubt yourself.
• Close your eyes, ask for what you want and visualize already having it.
• Write your wishes down… start with “I am so happy and grateful now that…..” Use this as an affirmation that you can say every day.
• Feel the way you will now after receiving your wish, you must act, speak and think as if you are receiving now.
• Trust the universe.

Before you begin with the law of attraction, here are a few things that you may find useful:

• The less negative thoughts you have in your head the quicker your desires will become your reality.
• Don’t worry if you have the odd few fleeting negative thought, one negative thought will not undo all you have done when you repeat your affirmations.
• Don’t worry if you forget to visualise for one day, it is easily done, and it does not mean that your desires will be forgotten.

“You attract your dominant thoughts”

The law of attraction is an extremely powerful natural law, that works all around us whether we are aware of it or not. The saying “like attracts like” comes from the Universe, whatever is going on in your mind is what you are attracting

The law of attraction never stops working.

For instance, you probably know some people who are really positive and some really negative…. What do they attract? If you think about it … the positive people receive positive things into their lives and the negative people? Negative things. It really is as simple as that!

How to Affirm More Wealth

Are you tired of working long hours every day just to make ends meet? Often-times still ending up in the same position every month? Well, would you believe me if I told you there really was no need? Probably not!

When you repeat wealth affirmations, you must think, act and feel wealthy, it is not enough to just say the affirmation…. And if there are any doubts, you will not achieve what you so desire out of life.

If you are not sure how to write your affirmations, you may want to start with something simple, such as this:

Repeat after me: “I’m financially free, Dollars want me!”

Repeat this several times a day, with the feeling and belief that you are already wealthy and soon things will begin to change for you!
