Use Affirmations to Keep Focused

Life is usually really busy for all of us! So busy in fact, that we are always trying to do several things at once and thinking about the other hundred things that we have to do in any given day! So focusing on the one particular thing that we are doing can be extremely difficult, however for you to complete any of your tasks properly and be able to function without stress and pressure, it is very important to focus your mind.

When you are trying to do more than one thing at once all the time, the stress and tension you create is very bad for you. It’s exhausting when you are trying to fit so much in isn't it?

But how do you learn to focus?

Affirmations of course! You may remember I mentioned in a previous blog, that affirmations can be used for just about anything? Well here is just another example of how they can help you to improve your life on a daily basis.

Remember – Your visions become your reality!

When you practice your affirmations you are training your mind to stay focused on one thing, and although you might find it difficult to even focus on saying just your affirmation at first, you will soon get used to it. It is a good idea to set times to say your affirmations at first, and to begin with if you are near a mirror say them to your reflection. This may sound silly but it really helps to get you started saying and believing them!

So how do you write an affirmation to help your focus?

  1. Find a quiet space so that you can create your affirmations without any distractions
  2. Decide what you want to achieve from your affirmation (In this case, you will want to increase focus)
  3. Visualize yourself in an ideal situation, maybe you are carrying out a task and are completely focused on that task, maybe you have received commendation for the task being done so well?
  4. When you are ready, grab a pen and start to think of what you want your affirmation to say… a good start is to begin in the present tense i.e. “I am”, “I have”, “My”
  5. Make sure your affirmations are positive at all times!

Here are some example affirmations for focus to help get you started:
  • My focus is firm and unwavering
  • I am focused and relaxed in everything that I do
  • I am completely focused on what I am doing right now
  • I can focus intently whenever I choose
  • I am focused on what I am doing so I get the results I desire

Getting and staying focused is never easy when life is so busy, however if you really want to learn and re-program your mind to help you feel less stressed and under pressure, affirmations are a great place to start!

So use our examples or write your own and visit our Facebook page to let us know how you get on!

Good luck and see you soon!

Positivity Weekend Challenge!

So we have spoken a lot about being positive this week, not only did we cover the positive aspect of customer feedback but we also talked about being positive in our personal lives.

As you probably know by now, positivity really can be the thing that makes all the difference to your days and your life in general. Having a positive outlook on life will give you a better quality of life and allow you to enjoy things much more than you ever thought possible!

So this weekend I have another small challenge for you, this challenge is a little different as it comes in 2 stages… Ready?

Stage one: Make a gratitude list

Grab a piece of paper and a pen and write down all the things you are grateful for in your life, include anything you want to, and don’t restrict it to material things, really think about what it is you are grateful for. Try to feel the feeling of gratitude while you write your list, so that you are already becoming more positive.

Stage Two: Write an Affirmation

When you have your gratitude list, try to write out a positive affirmation that you will use for the whole weekend. I challenge you to think and say this affirmation all weekend every time you have a negative thought. Although it is difficult to catch every thought you have, try to become really aware of your thinking and replace any negative thinking with your personal affirmation!

We guarantee that after the weekend you will feel much more positive about your life and will notice a difference in just 2 days!

Try it out and tell us what happened to you on our Facebook Page!

Have a positive weekend!

Keep a Positive Mind – Even when you don’t feel like it

People are always talking about being positive, and for good reason…. Keeping positive will help you to feel better, reduce stress and improve your health. Stress is a killer and if we allow constant negativity into our lives things seem to spiral out of control rather quickly, ultimately making us ill.

Of course as we know positivity and positive thinking also helps us to attract the things we want in life! But what do you do when you hit a bump in the road? It’s all too easy to let the negative thoughts creep back in and go back to the old way of thinking! Being positive isn’t just something we should do when things are going well, it is something that we should be doing every day, no matter what life throws at us, positive thinking will always make a situation better and we will deal with problems and stressful situations in a much calmer, and rational way than if we begin on the spiral of negativity.

Of course sometimes this is far easier said than it is done, and I know this feeling extremely well at the moment…. I want to share a recent experience with you:

Yesterday I had a day which was one of the most difficult and trying days I have ever experienced, it involved money (the loss of it, and the not having enough of it scenario). Now we all know that money worries cause us to feel stress, and will make us feel ill, and this was exactly what was happening to me yesterday morning!

The problem was that I found out that the money I was due to receive from a transaction, was no longer going to be mine and it had to go towards paying something that I had forgotten about, and that this thing I had forgotten about could affect someone else in a very negative way. Upon hearing that I was not going to be receiving this money, I will admit I started to panic, feel sorry for myself and feel that all the bad things happen to me…. This was my instant reaction of negativity creeping in, I knew it was happening and I knew that I needed to turn it around before it made me feel worse.

At that moment a good friend of mine sent me a message which said “There is something beautiful in every day…. You just have to find it.” Although this was the last thing I wanted to hear and I was quite happy sinking into my self-pity, something inside of me changed at that moment, and I realized that there really was nothing to worry about, after all it was free money that I had attracted and it was going to the place it was meant to go to all along. The only thing I needed to figure out was how to stop my problem from affecting someone else and making their lives more difficult. This made me focus on solving the problem and stopped me thinking about myself.

Although I don’t like the fact that I am no longer receiving this money and my plans have to change slightly, there really was a beauty in yesterday. I learned a lesson, and I learned that even when I don’t want to be positive, it is the only way to get through the days that are tough and even the ones that aren't!

Do you have examples of when positivity helped you through a situation? Do you find it hard to be positive through trying times? Share your experiences on our FacebookPage!

Listen and Lean - Make the Most of Your Feedback

Now, it’s no secret that most people don’t like criticism whether constructive or not, and if you are honest with someone about their shortcomings, you risk making them angry and causing problems.

Unfortunately in business it is a necessary evil that we all have to learn to deal with, without customer feedback we cannot improve/change our service for the better. It’s ok asking a good friend to rate your sales technique or service but you are highly unlikely to get the honest answer that you need, and being told what you want to hear will stop you making any progress.

With the birth of the internet, customers are able to rate any business, at any time they like, whether the business owners have asked for it or not! So encouraging feedback is the best way to harness this feedback to make sure that it does not become a problem for your business.

When implemented the right way customer feedback can have a significant effect on businesses, websites and sales. Encouraging customers and potential customers to provide a review will create trust for your brand and ultimately allow you to make the changes necessary to create an even better product or service!

Feedback will allow you to

·         Identify what works best in your business

·         Find out what people like least about your service or product

·         Make changes wherever necessary to improve your service

So how do you obtain feedback? Simple you ask for it! Whether they are clients or potential clients, you should get feedback.

Much like the “how did we do” surveys you see online all the time… It is important that you ask for reviews so that you know how your business is viewed.

You could use:

Email – Sending an email to someone you have recently spoken to is a quick and easy way to obtain feedback, you could even set up a standard email asking 3 key questions so that it is not too long winded.

Online survey or form – If you have email addresses for contacts, online forms are a great way to get feedback. They are usually set up with tick boxes with a comments box at the end, so they are easy to design, easy to fill out, and easy to get the results you need!

Social Media – Ask a question in your status box, this will encourage your likers and followers to get involved and rate your service

So you shouldn’t be afraid of feedback, in fact it is something that you should welcome! Your customers are the heart of your business, and if they are not happy, your business will not flourish.

Remember to take notice of what is being said, don’t be insulted or disheartened, simply listen to what you are being told and make the changes that will make your service first class!

How Does Money Affect Relationships?

It’s no lie that many of us would like to believe that we don’t want money, well when I say don’t want, I mean we think we only need enough to pay the bills and live on each month and that would be enough.

Many people will tell you that they are at their happiest when they are struggling, and that they do not need money to be happy… I bet you have said that more than once? Be honest now…. Did you actually mean it? I can admit that I have said these things in the past, and I will also admit that I didn't really mean a word of it…

I would like to enjoy holidays buy things that I want, get that new TV I have had my eye on and not go shopping with a calculator in one hand and a shopping list in the other! I will say that I love striving for something, feeling a sense of achievement but this is not by any means struggling….

Time for Change?

As humans we are not always very good with change and most of us would avoid it altogether if we could! Unfortunately change is a part of life and it is something that we all need to go through periodically to progress.

Of course there are changes that we actually look forward to, such as a new car, makeover or a new relationship. – For most of us change represents uncertainty and with this comes insecurity.

Personal growth is very important to our journey through life and is very important for us when we have dreams and aspirations that we hope to fulfil.

We all want to be:
  • Happy and satisfied
  • Live our lives happily
  • Live a life without worries or cares

Most of the time all these things can only be achieved when we are willing to make a change in our lives, what that change is will depend on what you want to achieve of course.

So how do you know that it’s time for a major life change?

  • When you are always looking or thinking about the past and refusing to look at the present.
  • When you feel numb to your life, if you feel like you have lost passions and any motivation to enjoy the things you used to.
  • When you’re relationships don’t feel real anymore.
  • When you feel as if you are settling for something even though it’s not what you really want.
  • When your mind drifts into a fantasy land where you imagine better ways of being.

“Don't fear change - embrace it.” - Anthony J. D'Angelo

If you can relate to any of the above, it’s probably time you think about making a change in your life. It’s perfectly normal to feel anxious when you are about to do something new and different, but knowing that it is necessary can make things easier to deal with.

What’s the worst that could happen?!

Take some time to reflect on what it is that you really want from life, and you will realise what you need to change in order to be happier. Let go, and believe that things are not going to get worse for you and change can only mean good things!

Remember there is nothing to fear!
